The Land of the Gods

In September 2021, I did my first Erasmus+ youth exchange in Greece. It was called “Active Citizenship through Mythology” and it took place in Pieria from September 4th to 12th.

The project was organized by EN.O Greece, and we stayed at the Grand Platon Hotel in Pieria. This region is known as “The Land of the Gods” because Mount Olympus is there.

Going to Greece in September was great because the weather was still really nice and summery. It was very enjoyable and I actually spent a good time there.

Myths and Legends from Across Europe

What I found interesting about this exchange was how we explored different myths and legends from each participating country. There were participants from Greece, Italy, Kosovo, Spain, Turkey, Serbia, and Russia. Each day was dedicated to a different country and its mythology, which was a cool way to learn about different cultures.

Making Connections

One of the best parts was meeting people from all these different countries. As it happens in every Erasmus+ project, we worked in English the whole time, so it was a good opportunity to improve my foreign language skills in a real, practical way.
